This is an experimental animation using apophysis fractals.

Stare into it long enough, and you will become my slave, err I mean, you will live forever, yeah!

Edit: WOW! 100 views! That's more than any other deviation of mine! Thanks for showing your intrest everybody!

 awesome! i'm impressed with this animated fractal not to mention envious. what program did you make this on--flash, unfreez, after effects or virtual dub? i definitely gotta give this my patented "thumbz up" award. keep up the good work!:iconthumbsupplz:

Thank you! Yes this was done in Flash. Just a series of identical fractals with slightly rotated gradients being animated frame by frame! If you look at it long enough, or focus on a different area, it will begin to look like something else!

yeah i noticed. i'm still trying to figure out how to animate fractals. how difficult is it to use?

Not very! All I had to do was align the images along the frames. It didn't take more than 5 minutes for me to do this!

really? but what about rendering the different fractals frame by frame?

That was the longer part. Throwing the images together in flash only takes 5 minutes. Rendering all the images takes considerably longer.

If you render at small sizes, and don't attempt to make the animation TOO smooth, it will take you about 40 minutes to render them all as long as you don't make any mistakes.

This is really... hypnotic.
And my comment is really useful.

No rly! A good one. Maybe a little "plain", but still good since it's an experiment.

I'm thinking about making more animated fractals like this one, except use a different change like a mutation or rotation, or BOTH!!!
We'll see what happens!

If you are running on a slower computer, you should give it a second to start rolling.
